Life Coaching -- "Gettin' to Know U"

This is not counseling. I firmly believe that counseling should be done in a face-to-face situation, as mentioned by the British Association for Counseling and Psychotherapy (Counseling takes place when a counselor sees a client in a private and confidential setting to explore a difficulty the client is having, distress they may be experiencing or perhaps their dissatisfaction with life, or loss of a sense of direction and purpose.).

Coaching was defined well by Fiona Harrold on her web site as, "Coaching is a no-nonsense, down-to-earth, practical set of techniques and strategies to achieve success, fast!" Success must be defined by each individual. I won't define success for you, you will tell me in what you wish to succeed.

Though, I certainly realize that "counseling" is performed everyday using e-mail, instant messaging and telephones. However, those "counseling" environments are not conducive to quality counseling and a professional relationship—by my professional standards. That is not to say that other counselors do not offer effective and professional counseling, using those methods, no doubt they do. It simply would not work well for me.

Everything is simple to achieve if you are sufficiently motivated to do it. If you allow yourself to believe that you can - you will. There is nothing that is impossible for you to accomplish, if you refuse to surrender to others opinions of your limitations and your doubts. Yes, you can lose weight, you can muscle up, and you can love yourself unconditionally. You can succeed in your career, or change it if it is not right for you and your unique personality. You can find your soul mate (if your expectations are realistic).

Conquering fears and doubts and irrational beliefs is not without its challenges, but it can be done, and is done every single day. Taking the high road to personal, educational and vocational success is less problematic than living with disappointment and despair. Succeeding comes naturally to us. Unfortunately, we learn from parents, teachers and leaders — and God help us - experts -- that certain "things" cannot be done and we should not expect to do them. Wrong!

Coaching is not counseling nor is it mentoring. Life Coaching revolves around your life today and how you want it to be in the future. We offer weekly or biweekly phone conferences. We also stay in touch through e-mail contact for questions and concerns.

We provide resources, a CD, e-book and a full reference guide to other resources our clients can use. Our clients take tests that tell us more about their individual needs. This is part of the program and there is no additional cost.
