Are You the Next Agatha Christie?

The exchange between Churchill & Lady Astor: She said,

If you were my husband I'd give you poison.

and he said,

If you were my wife, I'd drink it."

Do you have the dry wit and the devious mind to become a successful mystery writer? Plots can get extremely convoluted and you must be able to flesh out fascinating characters and then bump them off without a twinge. Mega star writer J.K. Rowling was criticized by her readers for her cold hearted approach to zapping beloved characters. She almost had a full fledged reader revolt when she callously dropped kindly Dumbledore from a tower. Although Rowling is a fantasy writer, her characters are murdered with alarming regularity.

Dame Agatha Christie was a true "mystery" writer. Using great sensitivity, she usually disposed of characters before we became attached to them. Many of the dead bodies were not particularly likeable when alive anyway, thus we did not miss them. Dame Agatha was the best of the best—at murder.
