Are you captivated by the breeze from the subway, the luscious whipped cream on your latte and the velvety texture of your favorite sweater? Sensuality is the ability to enjoy, even more than enjoy, and luxuriate in the tantalizing vibes from all of your senses. This delight in the senses is separate from economy and logic; it is purely, well-- sensual. You will find profoundly sensual people smelling the roses, drinking smooth, dark cocoa and taking warm, soothing, bubbly baths while eating creamy, deeply rich, sweet chocolate-- hmmmmmm. Do you pamper yourself with such delights? Perhaps you wonder if such indulgencies are sinfully over the top. 1. You are at a fabulously cool boutique and you most chose between a slinky black velvet skirt and a sensible wool cap --

a. You must be kidding; this is not a choice - give me that sultry velvet.

b. Well, it is cold outside and I get head colds - give me the wool cap.

2. You are buying a new apartment and you must choose between one with a fireplace or one with granite counter tops but no fireplace. Otherwise the apartments are comparable.

a. No fireplace? No fireplace? You can't be serious. I will take the warmth glow every time.

b. Granite lasts forever and it increases the value of the apartment for resale - granite is my choice.

3. Your main squeeze has taken you to the most luminous, high dollar cuisine shrine in town. The oh, so proper waiter suggests dessert-- either the organic tofu with a rare Mongolian berry topping or the gooey cherry, chocolate cake appropriately named Death by Sumptuous. Which one do you order?

a. Chocolate? Did you say sumptuous and gooey? Yes! Sweetie, you aren't going to eat all of yours, right?

b. Let me see, organic is healthy and rare Mongolian berries must be exceptionally healthy…give me the Mongolian stuff.

4. You need a new pair of pajamas and you are at your favorite shop trying to decide what to buy. Two styles are on sale, a nice, longwearing, heavy cotton in sensible taupe and a pink fluffy pair of pj’s in the softest, most highly touchable silk (design: hearts). Which pair calls to you?

a. It would really be quite impossible to turn down fluffy, soft, rosy hearts. Do they come in sexy red also?

b. The taupe pair is a logical choice; they are a warmer, heavy weight material. I could turn down the thermostat and save muy dinero. Do they come in dark tan also?

5. You are considering the wisdom of trading in your car while prices and interest rates are low. A dealership in your neighborhood has some great deals, especially on a used sexy, sleek, black convertible and a nice gas saving, sensible greenish sedan. With all else being equal, which car would you be more likely to choose?

a. I have died and gone to heaven. I was born to own a convertible—in fact; everyone should have at least one in his/her lifetime.

b. With the sedan I could cut my gas bill in half and still have room to carry my friends. I don't know about you Tom Cruise, but the sedan is obviously the rational choice for me.

6. You are going out on a first date with the hottest stud in town. You read that men prefer women in touchable fabrics and you are trying to decide what to wear.

a. There is no doubt about it, the red, clinging silk with a faux fur (remember Greenpeace) neck. Watch him sweat!

b. Touchable? I have that simple little wool and polyester suit. It never wrinkles. Yes, that will do quite nicely. Men appreciate functionality and long wear.

7. You are not only touchable you want your man to be sensual too. You are going out on an exciting first date with the cutest Capt. Sparrow lookalike in town. What do you want him to wear?

a. Hmmmmm…There is that ever so soft, tweed, cashmere jacket with brushed suede patches on the sleeves... A guy should look for an edge.

b. He would be nice in new jeans, a checked shirt and his hunting boots. After all, I will be hunting.

8. When you personalize your home, which of the following accessories are more like you?

a. Glowing scented candles are everywhere. I look great in candle light and the rooms smell enticingly glamorous.

b. I leave shiny, dependable metal flashlights in every room, in case the electricity suddenly decides to malfunction. Mental is sleek and modern. Note to myself: buy more batteries.

9. You have a small garden spot and you want to maximize the "enjoyability" of your outdoor room. Which plan is more like you?

a. I want to treat all of my senses... a fragrant miniature rose bush, a lusty rosemary herb, a soft lambs ear plant, and then I shall add the coupe de (whatever) a night blooming cereus . I don't want the night to be sans exciting, sensations.

b. A tomato plant would be convenient for salads. Perhaps a broccoli or two, they are loaded with vitamins. Note to self: Send a broccoli nutrient chart to former President Bush. He hates broccoli. Now he will have time to plant a little garden.

10. You will be making a PowerPoint presentation next week, unveiling a huge project on which you have been working. You want to make a big impression.

a. I think just telling it like it is will be sufficient. A few key statements on each page should keep my presentation simple and relevant. Note to self: Send dark mushroom gray, polyester suit to cleaners.

b. I will use color and imagery to grab their attention. I will also throw in some emotional words (win, triumph, enhance, empower). Sensory emotions are remembered when mere words have been purged. Note to self: Wear soft, friendly materials and a subtle fragrance. Colors should be powerful (yet, not over the top).
