We realize early in life, probably around ages 2 to 4 we are a separate human being with our own values and desires. Just try to feed the average kid broccoli and you will understand what I mean. However, that is about the same age we begin to seriously experience socialization. Families and educational systems encourage following predefined behaviors. There are penalties for roaming wild and free.
