Are You a Physical Fitness Nut?

Published on July 8, 2008

What do you know about physical activity and how does your knowledge affect your health and comfort? Do you want to look sleek and fabulous? What about fitting into your tiny jeans (the ones in the distant dark corner of your closet)? Would you like to avoid certain malicious and inconvenient diseases and disorders? Do you want to remain active well into your golden years? Would it enhance your life if you felt better psychologically, emotionally and physically? Physical activity is one of the most effective "yes" answers to all six questions. The more you practice physical fitness, the healthier you will become - while considering other limiting factors. Your genes and environment play a substantial part in your overall wellness; nonetheless, you still have some power. Use it.

1. You lift weights at least three times a week.

2. You have consulted a personal trainer.

3. You subscribe to at least one fitness magazine.

4. Going to the gym is important to you.

5. You eat enough protein to build muscles.

6. You eat enough good carbohydrates for the energy you need to workout.

7. You exchange fitness information with other people

8. At least some of your friends are also fitness fanatics.

9. You feel uncomfortable if you miss a scheduled workout.

10. You appreciate (and highly value) the sculpted look of toned muscles.

11. You look up fitness information on the Internet.

12. You include aerobics in your workout.

13. You would be extremely distressed if you lost your conditioned, buff appearance.

14. You believe that working out achieves much more than toned muscles.

15. You sometimes lecture to the unbelieving about the many benefits of fitness. (Yes, I know. They run when they see me coming too.)
